The Rio Rancho Art Association will be having its monthly meeting February 1st at 6:30 PM at the Destiny Center at 4401 Northern Blvd in Rio Rancho. The first half hour will consist of business topics and announcements followed by a pastel demonstration given by Cecelia McRoberts. Cecilia will be showing different pastel techniques as well as displaying an assortment of pastels, papers and other materials. This demo will be interactive & tactile, so if you always wanted to try pastels.. this is your chance!
Cecelia McRoberts, a member of the Pastel Society of New Mexico, Rio Rancho Art Association and the Rio Grande Art Association. Her work has been juried into the 2009 & 2008 PSNM National Shows, in which in 2008 won an award for the painting “Red Square Abstract”, 2009 MasterWorks of New Mexico Miniature Show, and placed 3rd in 2008 New Mexico State Fair Professional Pastel Division.
A social hour will follow the demonstration, including samples of art by members. Meetings are open to the public regardless of artistic experience and media. All are encouraged to join, this is a great opportunity to meet fellow artists, network, make friends and develop your skills.
The RRAA meets the first Monday of every month unless that falls on a holiday in which case the meeting will be moved to the following Monday
